ally Hemming's work displays a vibrancy evocative of the exotic islands from which she draws her inspiration. Her Caribbean landscapes and flower paintings are executed in a soft and dreamy to sun-drenched palette which conveys, through colour and mood, an instant sense of place.
During her travels in the Mediterranean she became drawn to the symbolism and iconography of the Renaissance. Her works of Venice document her love affair with this beautiful and mysterious place.
Sally Hemming's latest etchings and monoprints are based on the works of admired artists Giotto, Goya and Samuel Palmer and also her own life drawings and sketches.
